At the beginning is taking refuge and the bodhisattva vow. The first section creates an atmosphere of self-realization or basic potentiality . . . You are already enlightened, so you need only recognize and understand that.

Chögyam Trungpa

Chögyam Trungpa received The Sadhana of Mahamudra in 1968 while in retreat at Taktsang cave in Bhutan. This liturgy evokes the highest view of mahamudra and ati, and yet is practiced at our centers by our whole community and newcomers alike. This course will explore four sections of the sadhana: taking refuge and arousing bodhichitta, the three leaps, the outer and inner visualization, and the concluding great empowerment of ultimate simplicity. We will end our fourth and final class with an online chanting of the sadhana and celebration. All are welcome.

Dates of the four classes are Saturday, January 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 2:00 pm, Atlantic (Halifax) time. The classes will be about 1 ½ to 2 hours long. Each gathering will start with a half hour of sitting meditation followed by a talk and discussion.
