Solo Retreat Opportunities for June, July, and August 2021

Dorje Denma Ling is pleased to offer three private, individual retreat spaces for the months of June and July: one suite in Gyatso Lodge; one Drala Cabin, and one upgraded Wood Cabin. Retreatants will be fully supported by meal service.

Internet service is available now in Gyatso Lodge as well as most of the area within the circle of the main buildings. Access to the internet is available for cabin dwellers in the downstairs sitting room of Gyatso Lodge.

Guests are expected to follow all Nova Scotia’s health and safety protocols during their stay. You will be safe within your retreat space and have access to private bathroom facilities. Social distancing, masks, hand washing/sanitizing guidelines apply when entering all common indoor spaces.

During your stay, you are welcome to enjoy the land and walking trails around the property. The Pavilion is also available to those who might wish to sit, practise yoga or other physical exercises.

Note that the main building and the office are designated “staff only” spaces and are out of bounds to visitors unless they are explicitly invited to enter for certain events.

Logistics

• Minimum stay is 2 nights.
• A 15% discount will be applied to registrations 14 nights of longer.
• Choice of dates and retreat area is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and is managed by our booking software.
• Rentals are single occupancy only in each of the three available areas. No outside visitors permitted.
• All retreat spaces will have access to a utility fridge, kettle and breakfast foods, tea, coffee, etc. — which will be supplied by DDL.
• Lunch and dinner will be served on trays at the main building. You are welcome to eat outside on the picnic tables, or take your food back to your retreat space.
• All retreat spaces will have furniture appropriate for a shrine should you wish to create one. Retreatants are expected to bring their own shrine supplies (e.g., incense, candles, etc.) and set up their practice area. DDL has offering bowls (including sand or salt), and votive candle holders you can use if you prefer not to bring those with you.

Your practice during retreat is your choice. As long as you respect the privacy of other retreatants and occupancy guidelines set by Dorje Denma Ling, you can otherwise come and go as you please.

The Drala Cabin

The Lodge Suite

• The retreat area in the lodge includes two rooms on the upper floor: one bedroom and one practice space, a private bathroom and a kitchenette. No one will have access to the upper floor except the retreatant.
• Cost: $80 per day for a minimum of 2 days ($160 minimum stay)
• 15% discount applies for minimum stays of 14 days.

The Drala Cabin

The Drala Cabin

• The Drala Cabin used for individual retreats has one bed removed to accommodate the set up of a practice space.
• A private composting toilet and one side of the shower house is reserved for use by retreatants in the Drala Cabin.
• The cabin is equipped with a small fridge and kettle so you can store snacks, cool water, and make hot beverages. Coffee and tea supplies will be provided in your retreat area.
• Cost: $70 per day for a minimum of 2 days ($140 minimum stay)
• 15% discount applies for minimum stays of 14 days.

The Drala Cabin

The Wood Cabin

• The Wood Cabin used for individual retreats has one bed removed to accommodate the set up of a practice space.
• A private composting toilet and one side of the shower house is reserved for use by retreatants in the Wood Cabin.
• The shower house is equipped with a small fridge and kettle so you can store snacks, cool water, and make hot beverages. Coffee and tea supplies are provided.
• Cost: $50 per day for a minimum of 2 days ($100 minimum stay)
• 15% discount applies for minimum stays of 14 days.
