When mind is without reference point, that is Mahamudra. When you are accustomed to and familiar with this, unsurpassable awakening is attained.
– Tilopa; Mahamudra: The Ocean of Definitive Meaning, p 174.

Vajrayana practitioners are warmly invited to join retreat leaders Andy Karr and Scott Wellenbach for an advanced, 10-day Mahamudra retreat.

To guide our practice, we will use the shamatha and vipashyana meditation instructions from the ninth Karmapa Wangchuk Dorje’s Pointing Out the Dharmakaya, translated by the Vajravairochana Translation Committee at the request of the late Venerable Thrangu Rinpoche, for use in the three-year retreat at Gampo Abbey.

Who May Attend

This is a Vajrayana program restricted to tantrikas and sadhakas who have received pointing out instruction.

Please attend the full retreat if you can. Partial attendance is allowed on a case-by-case basis. Preference will be given to participants who can start at the beginning of the retreat, or who have participated in previous Mahamudra retreats.
