Solo Retreat Opportunities for 2020 Season
Flexible Dates
PLEASE NOTE: As per Federal and Provincial Border regulations, we cannot accept travellers either from outside of Canada or the Atlantic Region.
Canadians from outside to the Maritime Bubble are also restricted until such time as the Nova Scotia Government lifts the 14-day quarantine requirement. We may accept requests from Canadians to quarantine on a case by case basis.
Solo Retreat Opportunities for the 2020 Season
Dorje Denma Ling is pleased to offer six solo retreat opportunities: four in the lodge; two in the drala cabins.
Retreatants will be fully supported by full meal service (no rota required). However, an important point to note: the main building is not open to visitors. It is reserved for the “staff bubble” so they don’t need to worry about social distancing restrictions. This saves staff time and effort, so they can better serve and support visitors. This also means that the people in the drala cabin retreat area will have to use the outside shower house and composting toilets (details below), but the cost will be reflective of this situation.
All retreatants are welcome to enjoy the land and walking trails around the property, and access internet in the lobby of the office building. Social distancing, hand washing/sanitizing guidelines still apply outside and in the office building.
Minimum stay is 7 nights. A 15% discount will be applied to registrations 14 night of longer. Rentals are single occupancy only in each of the six available areas. No outside visitors permitted.
Your practice during retreat is your choice. As long as you respect the privacy of other retreatants and occupancy guidelines set by Dorje Denma Ling, you can otherwise come and go as you please.
Solo Retreats in the Lodge
- Each of the four retreat areas will include two rooms: one bedroom and one practice space, plus a private shower and bathroom area.
- Retreatants will be supported by the Dorje Denma Ling staff, including the provision of three nutritious meals per day. Food will be delivered to and dishes retrieved from your respective retreat area. You can communicate special requests to staff with notes – most conveniently left on the dish tray.
- Each area will also be equipped with a small fridge and kettle so you can store snacks, cool water, and make hot beverages. Coffee and tea supplies will be provided in your retreat area.
- Each area will have a box or furniture appropriate for a shrine set up. Set up is the responsibility of the retreatant.
- Retreat supplies (e.g., incense, candles, etc.) are also the responsibility of the retreatant. However, we have ample bowls (including sand or salt) and votive holders you can use if you prefer not to bring those with you.
- Retreats are open beginning July 1. Choice of dates and retreat area is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and is managed by our booking software.
- Cost: $85 per day for a minimum of 7 days ($595 minimum stay)
