You are warmly invited to join the Community Retreat at Dorje Denma Ling: mornings immersed in The Art of Being Human teachings and meditation practice, and afternoons working alongside the Dorje Denma Ling staff.

Mornings: the Art of Being Human program

The morning program offers an exploration of the Shambhala teachings and meditation practice. This introductory program (Level 1 of the Shambhala Training series) invites us to experience basic goodness as the unconditional ground of our existence, and as the inspiration for living a fuller life and contributing to society.

“When you don’t punish or condemn yourself, when you relax more and appreciate your body and mind, you begin to contact the fundamental notion of basic goodness in yourself. So it is extremely important to be willing to open yourself to yourself.”

Chögyam Trungpa, Shambhala: The Sacred Path of the Warrior

This is a path open to anyone wishing to cultivate greater gentleness, clarity, and strength through meditation.

Afternoons: working alongside the DDL staff

Participants will spend the afternoon engaged in meditation in action: caring for the land, buildings, and ongoing projects at Dorje Denma Ling.

Your help will be deeply appreciated and will directly support the life of the retreat centre.

In return, the cost of the program is kept to a minimum, and participants may earn retreat credit toward a future stay at Dorje Denma Ling.
