Module 2: Refining Your Meditation
with Daniel Nguyen, Pamela Bothwell and Emilia Volz
October 30 - December 11, 2025
Module 2: Refining Your Meditation
The Four Foundations of Mindfulness • Fall 2025
“The basic work of mindfulness is to be present with our bodies.” — Chögyam Trungpa
This module focuses on deepening the stability and clarity of meditation. We turn to the Four Foundations of Mindfulness as practical ways to relate with body, life, effort, and mind. These teachings help us stay with experience as it is, without judgment or distraction.
As our practice deepens, we also explore the traditional map of the Nine Stages of Shamatha. Rather than seeing them as milestones to achieve, we study them as a guide to becoming more grounded and relaxed within awareness.
Each session includes meditation, readings from The Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, discussion, and direct guidance in practice. This module helps us refine our approach so meditation becomes more natural and sustainable over time.
