Overview
Ikebana—the Japanese art of flower arranging—conveys emotion, tells stories, and sparks wonder.
In the natural embrace of Dorje Denma Ling, Tejumo Ogouma will guide you through concise
presentations, clear demonstrations, and hands-on practice. Discover how each stem and space
can awaken presence, quiet the mind, and open the heart.
Who Should Attend
No prior experience is required. Artists and non-artists alike are invited.
Space is limited—please reserve your spot early.
What to Bring
Flowers will be provided. Please bring:
- Clippers
- A towel
- A shallow container and a small bucket
- Optional accents: mesh, wire, driftwood, paper, etc.
Note: there is no need to buy new materials.
Costs
All prices are in CAD. Please consider paying by e-transfer, cheque, or cash—saving transaction
fees helps us keep the Centre going.
- Meals: $60 total ($30/day)
- Centre, Tuition & Materials Fee: $200 total

Dorje Denma Ling offers teachings to all who seek them. Sliding-scale fees, payment plans,
and scholarships—supported by donations—ensure access. Scholarships are available for those
in financial need, newer meditators, BIPOC practitioners, and under-40s.

Tejumo Ogouma
Tejumo Ogouma is a long-time Shambhala Buddhist practitioner who has devoted many years to the study and application of the creative arts in our everyday lives. He is a practicing artist trained in Ikebana in the Sogetsu tradition, Miksang (contemplative photography), and Haiku.
