Vajra Politics: Nature of Mind Meets the Dark Age
with Julia Sagebien
Open Dates
Vajra Politics: Nature of Mind Meets the Dark Age
Three Monday Evening Talks by Dr. Julia Sagebien
June 30, July 7 and 14, 2025, from 6:30-8:30 pm EST, via Zoom
A Special Offering for the Monday Night Tantrikas Group and Selected Friends
In this private series of talks Dr. Sagebien will review a variety of sources on what Chögyam Trungpa referred to as “vajra politics” and/or “political consciousness.” We’ll also survey commentaries by some of the Vidyadhara’s senior students and other lineage teachers. Based on this broad survey, we will discuss how to carry the practice of nature of mind into post-meditation experience in order to use the view and practice of mahamudra/rigpa as the ground for effective political action.
Suggested Readings
There are two main sources of readings on this topic which it would be great if folks were interested in getting and delving into before or during – or after – the sessions. Julia will provide specific selections from these soon, but in the meantime, since getting them may take a while, here they are:
The Vajra Politics Sourcebook
and
Creating Enlightened Society – A Series of Talks by Robin Kornman
They are both restricted to those who have done programs which many of us won’t have but it is ok to purchase and read them as long as you have received pointing out instruction in the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche and if you plan on attending these sessions with Julia. Please say that you will be attending these sessions in the pop up dialogue box that asks about such things. If you have any problem, let me know.
Prerequisites
To have received pointing out instruction in the lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche. And if you have received this link from Derek Kolleeny or Julia Sagebien.
Cost
In lieu of a program fee or teacher’s gift, Julia Sagebien has requested participants to donate to Dorje Denma Ling. We appreciate your generosity! Much respect and thanks goes to Julia’s commitment and support of DDL!
