Mary Goodman

Mary Goodman, Ph.D., retired in late 2020 after more than 20 years in private practice
as a registered counselling therapist in Nova Scotia, where she worked with both
individuals and couples. Her master’s degree in clinical psychology (Naropa University,
Colorado, 1981) prepared her to apply contemplative approaches to therapy, while her
academic doctorate in psychology (Institute of Transpersonal Psychology, California,
2008) allowed her to further her interest in life-span human development.

Over the years, Mary received specialized training in a variety of therapeutic
approaches. In addition, her nearly 50 years as a student and practitioner of Buddhism,
as well as her 46-year relationship with Peter, form the basis of her belief in the
fundamental healthiness with human beings and the workability of difficult situations.
